Last week we took some time to catch up and finish our row of the Glorious Flight. So on Friday morning I didn't have much planned until God led me to this simple lesson...The Good Shepherd
Most mornings I pick a card from our Beginners Bible series lessons. I happened to pick the story from Luke 15, the Parable of the Lost Sheep.
Later that morning, as I was cleaning up the breakfast dishes I thought, Oh this would be a great lesson today for the boys to learn about how Jesus is our Shepherd and we are His sheep!
So I went to my computer to find some crafts.
I found a cute cotton ball sheep to make on the Totally Tots site.
Lil D and Big D glueing on the cotton balls.
While our sheep were drying I had Big D do some copy work in his journal.
He copied... I am the good Shepherd
Well actually the word shepherd was too long for him, so I told him what he already had was great!
I found the clip Art on the Totally Tots site
We talked a little more about how we are all like sheep and Jesus will always take care of us. Then I found some shepherds herding sheep on YouTube. You can watch one of my favorites here...Shepherd leading flock across busy road in Amman another good one is The Shepherd's Voice, John 10:4
After lunch I let the boys play in the falling snow.
Here, they put a bucket in the bushes to see how much snow they could catch.
After play time outside I had the boys pretend they were sheep, I was a shepherd and they followed me around the house until they found their snack.
The boys proudly displaying their sheep with daddy!
John 10:11
I am the good shepherd, The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
Isaiah 53:5-7
Jesus did lay down his life for us, we are his sheep.
Have a Happy Valentines Day!
