It was the perfect day to explore what the forest looks like in the winter. So we packed up our treasure buckets, pulled on our boots and headed out for an adventure.
While looking for treasures and hiking, the boys and I discussed how the forest looks different now because it is winter. I asked them to look around and see if they could spot any leaves in the trees. Then we came across some footprints...
We had seen a dog earlier in our walk and made the assumption that the dog had made that footprint.
Then Big D wanted to make his own footprint...
We had a fun day hiking around and exploring Gods wonderful creation!
I just had a to get a shot of the boys on the same step where I had taken a picture of them in fall...
Winter 2012
Fall 2011
(I would love to get a photo in spring too! or maybe a snow pic?! ~ Still waiting for the snow here)
It was cold earlier in the week so there was still ice on the creek. The boys had fun breaking it apart...
Lil D said this tree looked like a lion...
What a wonderful day full of sunshine, giggles, and muddy little boys!
Your walk looks like a great time. I love being out in the woods but, we don't go out there often enough. You got some great pictures!
ReplyDeleteWe did the same thing on Friday= Nature preserve. I should have taken the camera, but wanted to jog while the children rode their scooters. Anyway, thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteRecently decided to take Friday's for adventure day= no formal education.
God bless!
