Tot School - Letter B

Lil D is 32.5 months old.
Tot School
This was our first week back to school.  We took a couple weeks off before and during the Christmas holiday.  So we jumped back in with both feet and had a fun week learning about the Letter B.

Our verse for the week was...  Happy is the man that findeth wisdom.  Proverbs 3:13a
We sang The B-I-B-L-E song.

For one of our activities we painted with Bubble wrap.

I tried to form a letter B with painters tape on construction paper and then let the boys dab the Bubble wrap into Blue paint and then onto their B.  After the paint dried we carefully peeled off the painters tape.

We found some Balloons and tried to blow them up!  It was hard!

We played Balloon volleyball in the living room...

The little white table was our net.  The boys had sooo much fun...

Later that night when dad came home the boys showed him how to play our new game...
The boys also played Balloon Tennis, this was a lot of FUN!
I made a racket out of a paper plate with a big popsicle stick tape well on the back.

Play doh time!
Lil D played with his play doh and tried to make a letter B...

Lil D practicing his cutting skills...

                          Making tracks...

                              Practicing his tracing....

                                        B is for Balance Beam...

             Making Bubbles...

To make the bubbles we used 2tsp dish soap, 3Tbs water, and food coloring.
We made bubble prints on card stock paper.   When the bubbles would get really big we then took the paper and placed it on top of the bowl.  It made a really cool effect on the paper. Check out the picture below.  Later on we cut the paper into note cards to use for thank you cards.

Since the boys love construction, we read Bulldozers by Amanda Askew.  We found this at the library.   The boys loved it!

Big D just turned 5.

I'm adding Big D's Preschool adventures here too.   It just makes it easier for me to have both boys working on the same Letter together.

I made a scavenger hunt for Big D to find B words around the house.  I wrote words that began with the Letter B on cards and placed them around the house on the items that began with the Letter B.    After he found the cards he had to copy the words in his writing/drawing journal.

(I found that a shorter pencil works better than the long ones.  I snagged this pencil from IKEA.)

Big D loves to play with the play doh too....

Here is Big D's letter b's...

Practicing tracing his Letter B...

Coloring his letter B pictures...
(He does not like coloring, he find it very tedious.  I've realized this is not his thing)

Whenever he cuts something his little mouth opens and closes with the scissors...   I love this!

Big D's lap book for letter B...

What a fun week!!  I really enjoyed this week with the boys!
We are working on our FIAR row of Katy and the Big Snow, so I should have a post about this soon!

  1. Really like the bubble wrap painting. Your boys are very similar age to my younger two so these ideas are really useful.
