Lil D is almost 32 months old and I'm very excited to say he is Potty Trained! Yeah!!! Sorry I just had to add his potty training as a little side note because I'm very excited about how quickly he caught on! I read the book Toilet Training in Less than a Day
Thanks for letting me tell you about Lil D's accomplishment!
Moving on to Tot School, Last week during Tot School we learned about the Letter X!
For our first year of homeschooling I feel like December is a hard month because of all the festivities and the year coming to an end. I'm having a hard time coming up with new and exciting projects and activities. Does anyone else have this problem?
Sorting colored shapes into containers...
Working on a shape puzzle...
The Christmas Story Stacking blocks...
I had Big D and Lil D make their own X out of construction paper I cut into strips.
The boys putting dot stickers on their X...
Big D's X.... I found my husbands old back X-ray and put it in the window.
Lil D working hard to make his X out of play doh...
Stamping X's inside the big X
Then we took some time to play with the Discovery Toy; shopping shape sorter
We finally put up our tree and I let the boys help decorate...
They did a good job and spread the ornaments around the tree, usually
they get clustered in one spot on the tree.
We played a game with our Letter X; I had a tray of toys and other items, I had sets of three items. Example: two snowmen and one christmas tree, put the X on the item that is different.
Both boys enjoyed playing this game and helping each other out.
For this grouping I had two train engines and one boat, I asked Lil D which of the
items was different? He said "these two go on tracks and this goes in water" I was
amazed that he came up with that.
I ended up playing this game with Big D; Roll a Xylophone from Confessions of a Homeschooler
This is a good counting game while trying to put the Xylophone in orderOur craft for the week was making our own X-Ray of our body...
We started out with a Gingerbread man cut out of black construction paper.
Then I had the boys use Q-tips and white paint to paint their bones on.
This was our final result, I thought they turned out really cute.
Well that was our week last week! Have a great week!
And remember the reason for our Christmas celebrations... Jesus Christ our Savior!
Thanks for visiting my site!

I love the x-ray Gingerbread man. I've found December hard work too-there is so much to do and it is easy to get distracted from the Reason for the celebration.
